Isca looked down. "Why? That's what I wanted to know..." She looked back up at him. "Howell, I turned around... I walked away... SOMETHING attacked me!" She felt weird emotions swelling through her... over whelming anger? She took a step closer. "Why did you attack me?!"
The beast behind her snarled, ready for her signal, ready to attack. "Howell I trusted you..." The marking on her forehead grew a manacing red. "I TRUSTED YOU! And YOU attacked me! You killed your own family! And my father... my father died! THIS WAS ALL YOUR FAULT!"
Her words sounded completely inhuman, and demonic. Anger flamed from her body into her aura, slamming against Howell. "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?! HOW COULD YOU-"
"YES! Give me the order! I'LL KILL HIM!" The beast snarled behind her. Isca stopped and turned her head. Its piercing eyes were lusting for blood, and the glowing red crescent on its head pulsated in sync with her own.
"Oh my god..." She turned around and looked at Howell, horror in her eyes. "It... it... it was me?" She back away. "No... I..." She looked down at her hands... they were covered in blood. The beast behind her came into full view, its tail lashing about. It was the most frightening thing she had ever seen...
"NO!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. "NO!" She was crying, steady streams of tears flowing down her cheeks. "No... I didn't.. I wouldn't have..." She couldn't look at Howell. All that pain... she had caused to Howell. Her father died...trying to protect her.
Why? She was... a demon.
"Howell.. get out of here... GET OUT OF HERE!" She cried, reaching out into the darkness. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean..." She closed her eyes. Out of the darkness, a dagger formed in her hands. "I'll end this Howell... I'll kill it..." Her eyes opened wide. "By killing myself!" ((Dun dun dun... Naruto drama moment XD))
----
Penny's vision became sharp. Even as the demon took just a bit of control over her, she felt a sudden lust for blood. She slammed her fist into one doctor, knocking the needle away from him, Then brought down her demonized paw hard on the other one, instantly knocking him out.
She grinned, her sharp teeth baring. "Stay away, or I'll kill you all! You think I'm the demon here?! The demon is Nadorn! I'll KILL HIM!" She dragged her claws across the wall until she came across his office... then quickly smashed the door down. By now, both arms were transformed.
"Nadorn!" She growled. "You have been after the demon for years... don't you remember the first attack?!" She grinned. "I wasn't that demon! That demon has been extinguished! There are many of us. We are not monsters! Nor are we demons! We are the guardians! The guardians of these mountains... You humans are destroying our mountain. You can kill one of us, but not all of us. We are like wolves in sheep's clothing... and we are among you. "
Her blood lust only continued to grow, but she kept control over it. "We have to weed out the black sheep, or the flock will be ruined. It is all part of the natural circle of life, Nadorn! Are you starting to understand now?! We are here, to devour you all! Only the wolves are smart enough to live!"
'Don't kill him.' Penny pleaded to the beast. The beast grinned. "But he is human scum!" Penny shook her head. 'He can change.' The beast shook its head. "Humans don't change." Penny frowned. 'We do change! Like you guardians have changed! You used to be so peaceful... you protected the people here!' The beast frowned. "We have grown in power. Allow me to take over! I will destroy the threat!"
Penny shook her head. "Time to return, beast. I'll call you again when you've calmed down." Her eyes returned to normal, as did her hair and arms. She stared down Nadorn, her eyes still fierce. "Don't mess with us Nadorn. We are way out of your league."

With every word Isca muttered, Howell could feel himself being pushed away, slowly but steadily. He couldn’t leave, now that Isca knew the truth; he had another reason to stay. Though her words had hit him like a vicious bite, he clung to her subconscious with an undying desperation.
Howell’s legs collapsed under him and shuddered in fear and disbelief as the demon took a solid form. It was like that Day, only this time, he wasn’t small and frozen in fear. The fear within him before had stopped him from saving his sisters, and even the twins. He had watched his family die to this creature. He gritted his teeth.
He managed to rip his eyes away long enough to see Isca’s fabricated dagger. He closed his eyes, and though he could feel his body almost being forced back, he pushed forward. “No… Stop!”
Howell shoved Isca to the ground, the dagger sliding away as he did. He fell with her, landing half beside and half on top of her. “Isca, killing yourself won’t solve anything, it will lead to more heartbreak!” His hands shook as he dug them into whatever the ground was. It was so black, only the glowing of the Red Crescent moon illuminated their world now.
“You have to stop the demon by controlling it. You can’t do that without accepting it.” Howell could feel hot tears stinging his eyes and cheeks, “if you die now, all that died at the hands of this…. Monster will be in vain! Your father… what would he say?”
Howell lifted himself up, glaring at the beast with so much hatred and disdain that he could barley fight the urge to grab the dagger and plunge it deep into it’s heart. He shook, both from anger and fear, and the rush of adrenaline only made him shake more.
He looked to Isca, and offered his hand. “You have caused me and no one else pain. You aren’t to blame.” These words he knew would have sounded hollow, though there was no lie behind it.
“Leave this…. Beast here until you can learn how to control it. Come with me.” He turned his green, murky, honest eyes to her. “Please.”

Isca refused to look at Howell the entire time he talked to her. She stood up and backed away from him. "No Howell." The beast faded into shadows, laughter following its disapearence.
"The girl has no hold on me! Someday, Howell boy, you will die by my fangs, or her hands." The voice echoed in the darkness. Isca backed away. "I can't control it Howell... I... I am the reason for all this. I am weak. I have always been so much weaker than Mugi... " She continued to back away.
"Go Howell. Never come back." She looked up at him with tear filled eyes, absent of hope. "I... I don't want to hurt you. Ever." She smiled sadly. "I-I love you."

Howell’s eyes widened. Was that what that feeling was? “Isca, I…” Before he could say anything more, before he could even protest he was thrown out of her mind completely. Everything was white.
Howell felt nothing, like he was floating. It was the oddest sensation, and at the same time very familiar and welcoming. He wanted to believe he was dead; it seemed easier. However, the dull lights on the hospital roof brought him back.
Howell blinked as he stood, he didn’t feel tired or hurt or sad anymore, it was an amazing sensation. “Howell?” The voice behind him was so familiar, though he had never heard it before. It was also surprised, slowly Howell turned around.
“…No. Shannah?” Howell took a step back, face whiter than a sheet. But it was true. His sister stood across the hall, bright green eyes wide and shocked. “But… this isn’t… why are you here?!” She was angry now, angry and demanding. Howell noted she was older than he remembered, though that was about eight years ago. She quickly closed the distance between them until she was but a foot in front of him. “Where is it? Your body? Where were you? Howell! This is serious!” “Am I dead?” Shannah’s features softened as she looked up at her big brother. “No. But you’re in the right area.” She sighed and put her hands on his shoulders. “You shouldn’t have done whatever the hell you just did, bro. You need to go find your body, before it shuts down. It’s easy when you possess the conscious state of mind, but when you take away your subconscious, there is nothing.” “What, but… Shannah. I need help, Isca…” Heather shook her head, “There isn’t time for that! Figure it out when you’re alive!” She shoved him towards a wall, and Howell fell, and then stumbled. He was amazed to have slid through the wall, and was starring at his own face, body chained to a bed. His physical body.
Shannah appeared from behind and sighed, “you have your body, hurry.” “Wait. What about you?” “I tried to jump out of my body when the demon attacked me. Got stuck here. My body is long gone…” her eyes glanced to the side, “but you have to get back. Isca needs you. Where ever she is in her mind.” Howell couldn’t even comprehend what he was seeing. His sister, dead after eight years… wasn’t really dead at all, just stuck in some middle-ground. “Howell, do I have to spell it out for you? GET. IN. YOUR. BODY.” She yelled, “And don’t come looking for me again.”
This time, Howell didn’t defy his sister, and reached for his physical arm. In an instant, he could feel everything again, and was it painful. Howell tried to shoot up, though his body was strapped to the bed. He assumed that was why they wanted him in the psych. ward, because it was the only part of the hospital with restrainments.
Howell struggled against the straps, but it was no use. He grunted in anger and frustration, but wouldn’t stop. He had to find Isca; he had to wake her up… There was a creek as the door slowly opened. An elderly head popped through. “Dr. Caines!” He croaked, the doctor without hesitation ran over and unbound Howell. “I heard they had you tied up, for what reason I’ll never know!” Dr. Caines exclaimed, he rested a hand on Howell’s shoulder. “What happened, son?” “Isca! I need to get to her.”

Penny left his office a mess, but Doctor Nadorn she left in one piece, with the hopes that perhaps he would change, and that he would leave them be. She walked down the hall, her long flowing pink hair trailing behind her. The marking on her forehead was blue once more, but it was glowing fiercly.
The doctors around watched her storm through. The rumors of her being the beast had traveled throughout the halls, but nobody tried to stop her. Confusion was just as strong as the fear, so they just watched.
Penny stormed into the room where Isca was kept sedated. "Get out." She told the doctors with her. "Penny? Penny, this child is-" "Not the beast." She informed them snappily, baring two rows of surprisingly sharp teeth. She pushed them out of the way, then grabbed a hold of Isca. "If she dies..." She turned her eyes to the doctors. "Nobody in this hospital will be safe."
She heaved Isca over her shoulders and turned, walking out of the room. "Hang on Isca..." She breathed. (( will finish l8er))

Within the darkness of the night, out from the village’s outer forest, a dark figure immerged. It dashed through the city, with grace and agility that could only be of a wolf. The black canine was a bit larger than a normal wolf, though it was nothing to look twice at. That was, unless you didn’t see the purple glowing crescent moon on it’s forehead.
The wolf panted, but didn’t stop its journey until it skidded to a halt in front of the city’s hospital. It looked up at the building, and slowly the crescent glowed to a lighter blue, and then completely vanished. The shadows hid the figure, but the sound of cracked and shifting bones was unmistakable as it echoed through the air. The grunts of pain from the creature turned into sounds almost human, until there was only a man sitting on the ground.
“Holy shit that hurt.” He huffed, but only dusted himself off and stood up. “It’s faint, but I can feel it.” He murmured, and began cracking his fingers. He turned his head to listen to the sounds around him. There was a body near, outside the hospital, but he didn’t have time to worry about witnesses now. The man just shook it off and entered the hospital.
As the light fell over the man, his features were revealed. He was older, but his youthful glow still present, making him only about 28. His hair was also a short, wild, dirty blonde mess, but he quickly patted it into something presentable. The most noticeable part about him was his long, thin scar that fell horizontally across his nose and his almost too-bright olive green eyes. He sauntered into the hospital and ignored the glances from a few people in the waiting room. He continued to walk, as if knowing his direct course. “I really hate hospitals.” He uttered regrettably as he pushed through to the next wing.
-
“Did you see where they took Isca?” Dr. Caines nodded very slightly, “I believe the south Wing. However… there was quite a ruckus. Penny, that pink-aired nurse…” he tried to say it gently, but the words could only be formed in so many ways. “She’s the beast, it would seem. I don’t know how Dr. Nadorn could have guessed wrong. I didn’t see much, I was trying to find you.” “How is that…” Howell knew Penny couldn’t have been the wolf, he was in Isca’s mind, he had seen her and the wolf. It was unmistakable. Were there more?
Howell gave the doctor one last nod of thanks before jumping from his bed. “I can’t thank you enough, but I have to go find her. She’s in danger. From her herself.”
Howell ran out the door, legs still rubbery from the sedative, though quickly the feeling returned. He panted as he turned down every which way, check every room he could in the south Wing. It was no use; she had to have been moved.

Penny noticed the familiar face as soon as she saw him from down the hall. Casually, she walked up to the blonde haired man, and allowed Isca to fall safetly into her arms. "Boy am I glad to see you here..." She glanced down at the girl. All three of them had the blue crescent markings. They were all the same.
Smiling, Penny glanced up. "Looks like I finally found our missing pack member." She said, cheerfully. "Could you take her? There is somebody else I need to find... just get her back to the pack. I'll come as quickly as I can... she is in pretty rough condition, so be careful with her." Without waiting for a response, she handed the green haired girl over.
"My cover is blown here, so I can't return here. I'll fetch enough supplies, and meet you later." She smiled softly, feeling so much relief, even though they were technically still in trouble. "Its really good to see you again."

The man smirked widely as Penny appeared, just the girl he wanted to see. “I knew I’d find you here, it really has been awhile.” He eyed her up and down with a smirk plastered on his face. “I like a girl in uniform.”
Before she could make a comment back, the man took Isca in his arms and examined her face. He raised an eyebrow. “So this is the terror of the town? She sure is scrawny. And young.” He turned to Penny again, features softened.
“It’s good to see you too, hurry up though. You said your cover is blown? I wouldn’t be surprised if there are guards on their way now, the bastards.” He shook his head then put Isca on his back, he wrapped his arms tightly around her legs because her arms couldn’t grasp around his neck, and he was still fascinated by her young age.
Dearka turned without another word and left the hospital. As he pushed through the doors (again, ignoring odd stares) once more the night engulfed him and his passenger. The moon was still bright and crimson in the sky, it made him shudder. He had control over his own demon, but there was always that blood lust he would get around this time. Isca would be safe with him though, more than she would in the hospital, ironically enough.

Penny looked down at her uniform. It was still coated in blood. She rolled her eyes at the retrieting blonde. 'What a dork.' She joked to herself, smiling. "By the way!" She shouted out after him. "I WONT get caught! Have some faith, man!"
'Focus.' She reminded herself, and turned, running down the hall. There was no time for walking now. From the voices she had heard from the other nurses, she knew that they had the auburn haired boy. She was so distracted by looking into each room, that she almost didn't notice the boy heading her way... again. She stopped herself just before bumping into him.
"Boy!" She said in a hurry. "You said you were looking for Mugi? How do you know them?"She glanced around. At the moment, there was nobody there, but they would be soon. "I have Isca taken care of. I'm going to take care of her... where is Mugi? He should come too. We have a lot to explain to the both of them..."
---
Mugi clung to the medicines, but the pain wasn't going away. What was worse, is he could feel that he was beginning to lose blood again, and the bandages he wrapped were becoming increasingly red. He looked up, waiting to see Howell, hoping to see somebody who could help him.
That ISN'T what he saw. What he saw was somebody getting away with his sister. A frown covered his face. This... was going to hurt. He stood up, ignoring the pain, and chased after the man. There was no way he was going to confront him, being as injured as he was... but he had to follow him. He couldn't trust some guy he had never seen before.
(( ok this was a terrible post but Im SOO distracted XD ))

((Don’t worry! It’s great c: Also if it helps new guy’s name is pronounced (Dee-arkah) not (Dear-ka) xD though the spelling could throw you off.))
Deaarka burst from his saunter into a slow sprint, Isca’s blood that covered her overwhelmed his senses, but it wasn’t hard to sniff out that there was someone following him. He would have turned around with a direct confrontation, but he had said he would take care of Isca, and that was his only priority.
He knew hewasn’t far away from the meeting point. It was in the woods by a small pond with large and smooth boulders. He could only remember the area so well because the boulders had strange marks carved into them. “Bloody mess this is.” He grunted as he hoisted Isca up a bit on his back. Carrying unconscious bodies was harder than he thought.
At last he had made it to the meeting place, and surprisingly enough, there was no one there. Yet. Deaarka gently laid Isca down so she sat, leaning against one of the larger stones. He knelt and watched her intently. Her moon marking was unmistakable, but was she really the one behind the attack all those years ago?
‘You know well what we are capable of, even with young minds.’
Dearrka’s frown deepened, “yeah, I guess you’re right.” He murmured lightly to no one in particular. -
Howell gasped lightly as Penny turned a corner and met him face to face. His heart leapt and he quickly opened his mouth to demand where Isca was, but she managed to beat him to speaking. “—What? M-Mugi is Isca’s brother. I’m their friend, so to speak. I told Mugi to wait for me outside because I had to get Isca. Where is she!? Last I saw her…Wait!”
Howell took a step back; his body crouched very slightly in a defensive state. “I heard doctors saying you were the beast. Was that to cover up for Isca or… are there more like her? And don’t tell me that you are the only one. I know Isca’s truth.” He really didn’t like asking so many questions, especially since his first priority was Isca. However, he wasn’t sure that if Penny ran off like before, he would see her again.

Penny snorted. Before, she seemed perfectly human, beautiful and flawless, but as her frustration built, she became more and more like an animal. "A friend, hm? Fine." She said, grabbing a hold of his shoulder. "If I don't take care of Isca and Mugi quickly... they will both be dead. Take me to Mugi." She said, shoving Howell towards the door out of impatience.
"And if you knew what was best for you, you wouldn't call me a beast. Or any of us for that matter. Since you are a friend... and already know partially about her secret, then you will have to come with us."
She stared straight out ahead, watching for intruders. "Quickly, before the guards arrive. I can fight them off, ofcourse, but I don't want to resort to that, especially right after such a night. No more questions Hurry!"
---
Mugi stopped just outside the clearing, leaning against a tree for balance. Where were they? The rocks all had strange markings on them, which he couldn't understand. Though even odder than that was the marking he saw on the man's face... a moon... just like Isca's.
Finally, after a few moments of catching his breath, he weakly wobbled into the clearing to confront the man. "Is it true then? My father spent a lot of his time trying to put all the clues together.. he had a feeling that there may be a whole pack. Is this true? Is that what you are?"
He glanced over at Isca and frowned. She didn't look so good... although, he was sure he didn't look perfect either. "Why did you bring her here? She is so weak... she could die!"

Deaarka calmly turned away from Isca to face Mugi. “So you’re the one who was following me?” He stood up, but stayed standing in front of Isca. He noted that Mugi could have in fact been Isca’s brother, mostly because of how similar they looked, but he really didn’t care about that.
Mugi did, however, surprise him with his questions. Only the pack knew of their existence, and maybe a few select people out of that. Deaarka watched the bleeding boy with a quite admiration for his recklessness. His wounds were grave, and quite obviously he was attacked by a Wolf demon. Isca, no doubt.
“Yeah, you could call us that.” He shrugged with a lazy expression on his scarred face, “But kid, I would suggest that you got some help before any one else shows up. Especially with all that blood your leaking everywhere.”
Deaarka hated seeing such dark blood against smooth, white skin. He closed his eyes and scratched at his neck, repeating a phrase over and over in his head to change his state of thought.
“As for your sister, she needs to know the truth. Don’t you think she deserves it? We can help her, unlike how your family has. She didn’t even know, don’t you realize tonight could have been a repeat of before?!” Deaarka then nodded at him, “And look at yourself, what was your plan? To confront me? Boy, you couldn't even drag your sister home if you wanted to."
He wiggled his nose for an instant before turning back to Isca. “...Sit down at least, if you’re going to bleed everywhere.” Deaarka was no doctor, but it was obvious that Isca was very weak. He pressed his hand to her forehead, it was hot to the touch.
“Damnit, Penny. Hurry up.”
-
Hesitantly Howell did not resist as Penny shoved him through the doors and outside into the fresh night air. He looked around; there was no sign of Mugi, though he should have been staying close to the hospital’s perimeters. “Mugi!” he called, and after not hearing an answer cursed. “Damnit, either he left or…” he stopped. Mugi was fine, he told himself. Injured, but fine. He could take care of himself in any situation, he…
“Wait, over there.” Howell murmured, then saw a few fresh drops of blood in the dirt. “I suppose that’s our bread crumb trail.” He uttered weakly and turned to Penny.

Penny smiled and nodded. "Ah yes. It appears so. Sorry about this kid... I'm a bit short on time." She grabbed a hold of the tall boy with such incredible strength, hoisting him onto her back. "Hang on now." She said, and began to sprint her way back into the hospital. She ran into the medicine room and pulled various drugs, bandages, and tools down from the shelves, throwing them all in one bag and clipping it to her belt.
Then without warning, she was running out of the hospital, following the blood trail, and she was fast. 'Damn kid.' She thought to herself. 'I'm not used to carrying people quit moving around.'
---
"I..." Mugi spoke up, taking Deaarka's advice and siting himself on a large stone. "I wasn't planning on confronting you... that moon marking just made me curios. If its true, that there is a whole pack of you... then I trust you."
That was weird. Why was he just up and trusting a stranger? Not only strangers, but strangers that had the same destructive demon in them as Isca did. The truth was, if there was only one demon attack, and it was from Isca, then these people had control. They knew things that Isca hadn't known before.
"Isca was too young to know the truth before. She still is. She is too emotional to be told that she is the one who killed so many... and was the result of my father's death. She is an emotional wreck as it is." He admitted.

Deaarka smirked lightly as the word trust came into use. He was a loyal person, and now he guess he would have to start looking out for that boy too. Damn his attachment to the silliest things. “Trust is a strong word.” He murmured, but that was all he said. The boy really must have been trying to help Isca all along by himself. He knew what a hard responsibility that would have been, though he didn’t voice is admiration.
“Isca may be young, but there is no way to go around it anymore. If she learns now, it will be easier for her to control it in the future. I was twelve when I was told.” The tall man walked around the perimeter of the small area, mostly to look at the rocks he never really spent much time looking at before.
“What I’m trying to say is that this may seem like a stupid idea, but it will be a blessing in disguise, you just need to be patient.” He looked over to Isca from behind a rather large stone. Those things were just odd, and truly fascinating. He had no idea of their origin, but he didn’t really care to know.
Deaarka cracked is neck as he walked from behind the stone and back over towards Isca. He paused, body stiffening as he head remained tilted to the side. His eyes darted around, then narrowed.
“Not sure if you met Penny, but she should be here in…” he thought for a moment, or maybe he was just listening. “Two minutes. Yeah, that’s about right.”
Deaarka returned to his place back beside Isca and stood, leaning against the large stone. “She’s the smooth talker, don’t think I would be telling Isca about this alone.” He chuckled, “I’d probably end up scarring her for life if I had to. I have that effect on people.”
-
Howell gasped lightly as Penny took him up in her arms and threw him on her back. He was surprised by her strength, but knew it was probably because of the Wolf Demon within her. He held on tight to her neck either way as she dashed towards whichever direction. He hoped Isca and Mugi were alright, but he could still feel a large pit in his stomach from guilt and anger and fear that he let out a heavy, quiet sigh.

Mugi cocked his head, almost like a lost puppy with a confused look on his face. "Penny? The pink haired nurse?" He looked out towards the forest. Now he himself could almost sense somebody heading towards their possition. What did the nurse have to do with anything? Was that why she wouldn't tattle on Isca's secret? Was she one of them?
It was almost too much to handle at one time. To think that their would be multiple pack members... there was a secret to these demons that Mugi was very curious to find out about. And he would have the chance to learn, as soon as Penny made it over.
---
She burst into the clearing with a burst of energy, landing gracefully on one of the many marked rocks. "Deaarka, I warned you about being followed!" The pink haired lady spat in a frustrated voice. She calmly let Howell down from her back and leapt down from the rock. "And Mugi, you shouldn't have run after him.. you are in terrible condition. Now I have to take care of the both of you!"
Mugi's mouth was agape with surprise. She had come so quickly out of the woods, and nearly startled him off his feet. The moon marking on her forehead was a surprise to him, but when he recalled her before, she had been wearing a nurse's hat, which conveinently covered the marking.
He opened his mouth to speak, but Penny just grabbed a hold of him and hoisted him into the air before he could say anything. She carried him over beside Isca and sat him down. "Sit." She told him, as if he had a choice. She then unclipped the bag from her belt and knealt infront of the two injured siblings. She reached inside of it and pulled out cleaning wipes, and began to wipe the dirt from their wounds, first from Isca, then from Mugi. Afterwards, she bandaged them up, and offered Mugi some painkillers, which he refused, seeing as how he had just recently taken some.
"Why is my sister still unconscious?" Miguel asked, worried about his sister. Penny sat infont of Isca, watching her carefully. "I'm not sure... it could be that she is fighting with the creature... in her subconscience." Miguel frowned. "Could something happen to her?" He asked Penny. She looked up at the sky, as if trying to calculate things. "Well... not physically. She wont die or anything... and she'll wake up eventually. But it could really take a toll on her mental strength...and without that..." She looked over at Deaarka, knowing the price lack of mental strength could cost.
"She'll never be able to control the creature... And she'll become a thread to the city."

Deaarka watched as Penny did what she did best, a neutral expression on his rather haggard face. He slowly turned to Isca and then Mugi, watching her bandage them both up. He didn’t pay much attention to Howell; there was no need to be suspicious, seeing as Penny had brought him (and on her back, too.)
“She’s being tested. At least, that’s how I see it.” He turned to Mugi, expression hardened. “All we can do is wait and see. If she can’t control it…” he turned to Penny now, his motto was usually kill first, ask question later, but this was a far different case. He never actually had to go through this with any of the pack members, and it was an odd feeling that washed over him. Was it doubt?
“If you hadn’t stopped her earlier, she would already be dead. You’re a good brother.” He hoped those words would give Mugi at least something to think about until Isca came to.
“Isn’t there something we can do?” Howell finally asked as he made his way beside Mugi and plopped beside him. He rested a hand on his shoulder. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have left you alone. I couldn’t even save Isca.”
He turned to Penny and Deaarka. He knew barley anything about them, but they were the only hope they had.
“I was in her head before. I saw that thing. I should go back, I could stop it, and maybe I can get you two to—“ “Kid, it isn’t that easy!” Deaarka snapped. Howell frowned, but he didn’t back down.
“Well we can’t just sit here! Please,” he looked to Penny, he didn’t expect her to be any less blunt than Deaarka, but maybe she knew something no one else did, “there has to be something.”

The darkness was back. She could feel the beast surround her, its eyes gazing out at her with a violent stare. She could feel its dark aura in the oxygen, which made her breathing jagged and sharp, in sync with the growls coming from the maw of the demon.
She knew that no matter how far she ran, this demon would be right behind her, feeding off of her, waiting until the perfect chance to take control. She couldn't escape it. It was inside of her, its lust for destruction present since birth. Cursed by birth. Was this her destiny? It didn't make any sense...
"Child, let me take over. I'll destroy everything, so nothing will make you fear, so nothing will make you hurt. Then you can build anew.... start a new city, with yourself as ruler!"
Isca folded her arms around her legs, hiding her face between her knees. She felt so young, and scared, just like the night after her fathers death. That too... that had been her fault. Miguel tried to take care of her... she killed Howell's family... All that was her fault. She was responsible for the pain of everyone she ever loved.
"Let me take over. You wont have to worry about what happens. You can stay here, forever... You don't even have to know what is going on. You wont have to cause anymore pain."
Isca began to shake. Her breathing sounded more and more similar to the beast's growling, her appearence slightly altering into a more monster like state. The moon making on her forehead began to glow a dark red, and then it began to grow, taking over the majority of her face.
The beast grinned.
Isca felt her finger nails turn to claws, and her teeth to fangs. Her eyes became more and more beast like. The demon stepped up to her, its eyes wide, its teeth dripping. It was licking its lips, its heart beating rapidly, its mind becoming blank and its instincts taking over completely.
Isca too, began to feel that way. Her heart began beating so fast she felt like she was going to collapse, and soon, she lost her train of thought, until all that was left was an angry stare, full of anger and bloodlust.
The beast opened wide its mouth, then clamped it around her neck. "Your mine... Your body, your soul, your heart. You weak, persistant fool."
Isca felt its teeth penetrate the skin on her neck until she could no longer breath. She was the prey, and she had been hunted since birth. Now, the predator had her. There was no more running, no more hiding. The beast was going to kill her, and then it was going to take over, and kill everyone.
She felt herself go dead, completely. Her heart no longer beat. Her breathin ceased. Her vision went blank. Then she felt nothing. She heard nothing. She saw nothing. She couldnt move, she couldnt think, she couldn't feel. She was, in every aspect of the word, dead.
---
Penny watched Isca carefully, constantly checking her vital signs, measuring her breathing. Things were turning out worse than she thought, and all at once, she felt the dark aura surround the girl infront of her. Penny's eyes widened, and she jumped up, grabbing Miguel and Howell by the arm.
"Get back you two!" She said, pulling them away from the scene. She looked over at Deaarka, panik plastered onto her face. "The demon has taken over... Isca... Isca doesn't even exist anymore."
A deep, stabbing pain jolted through Mugi's heart, and he suddenly felt like he was going to puke. How could this be? How could Isca be gone? How could this beast have taken over?
"NO!" He screamed, ripping away from Penny's grasp. "You're wrong... She-" He stopped in his tracks. He couldn't feel her anymore. As twins, they were born with an amazing ability to feel each other's presence. But he couldn't feel Isca. He could see her body, but she wasn't there.
Then the moon marking began to glow, a blood red. It grew, until it almost completely took over her face. Right infront of him, the demon had stolen Isca's body.
Penny snatched Miguel away from the scene. "I'm sorry boys." She said, tightening your grip. "There is nothing you can do..." She looked at Deaarka. "K....Kill it." She dropped her gaze. There was nothing they could do.
----
"Isca." The man's voice was familiar, and warming. "Isca, what are you doing here?"
The girl opened her eyes. The area around her was bright, white, and beautiful, much different from the darkness before. The man was tall. His smile was gentle, soothing. His hair was a mint green. It brought a smile to the girls face.
"Dad." She said in a relieved voice as she threw her arms around him. He held her, remembering what it was like to love his children, to hold his daughter. "Isca... you don't belong here." He finally spoke, almost sadened.
Isca broke away from him and looked at his confused. "Why not?" She asked, appearing much younger than she remembered she was.
The man tousled her hair. "Well, Mugi still needs you, as does your mother." Isca frowned. "But that monster took over daddy, I don't have a body to go back to." Ferdinand smiled. "That body still belongs to you, just take it back."

Deaarka’s gaze met Penny’s. His olivine eyes slowly ripped away from her to the unconscious girl in front of him. She was definitely right; he could only feel the creature’s presence. Isca’s own small, flickering soul was completely engulfed.
His features began to shift slightly. His teeth slowly sharpened as the crescent moon on his forehead turned from a dormant blue to a dark purple hue. He kept is human form as he walked towards her, heart beating loudly with each step closer. His nails elongated and hardened as he grabbed Isca by the neck and raised her up in the air.
He had never hesitated to kill before, why was now different? He held the girl’s throat—and life—in his hands.
Howell would have fought against Penny’s grip on his shoulder, he would have dashed over to Deaarka and tried to save Isca. He would have refused to stop and do nothing. That was, until he saw Mugi’s face. Even her brother knew all was lost, and Mugi wasn’t one to give up ever. His breath seemed to escape from his lungs completely, face pale and eyes wide. It couldn’t be… Isca was such a strong fighter…
He knew what the feeling that rushed over him was now. It was so familiar to him; it was how he felt at his family’s funeral, though at the same time, it was different. He didn’t want to lose another person he cared about, but there was no way to save her, she was gone.
Howell wanted to curse himself for not staying in Isca’s mind, but there was no way around it. As Penny pushed both him and Mugi away, he dug his free hand into his auburn mess, near his temple, and tried his best not to sob. He loved her. He loved her so much. Why did he only realize it now, after it was too late?

The dark door infront of her sent chills of fear and sorrow through her heart. "Daddy, I'm too scared. I don't want to go back."
The man put his hand on her shoulder. "Don't be afraid, Isca. You have to go back. Miguel, your mother, Howell... they are all waiting for you. You are the only one who can stop the beast...if you don't..."
Isca didn't want to think about the destruction that the beast could cause with control over its own vessel. Her father was right. She had to stop it. She had to leave this place. She had to leave her father. She had to go back to the darkness.
She let her hand on the door, and she was emmediately filled with all of her old fears. She tried to swallow, but a lump was caught in her throat. She really, really did not want to do this...
"Isca. The door will disapear soon. Go now!"
Isca shut her eyes, and without further hesitation, pushed against the door, and she fell inside. With an ear shatter 'BANG' the door slammed shut behind her, and disapeared.
When she opened her eyes, she was back in the darkness. There was nothing to see, because there was no light. She reached out her hand, and from the shadows, materialized a dagger. She gripped it with her fingers and ran.
Not sure where she was going, or how she could find it, she followed the beast's scent, allowing her feet to carry her faster than she had ever run before. An unexplicable wind rushed past her, pushing her faster and further than she had ever run before.
And then she saw it. Its menacing fur, its blood dripping claws... She would strike before it even noticed her coming. She lunged forward, dagger in hand...
The dagger made contact with the beast's spine, just between the shoulder blades. A blood curtling shrill echoed in the darkness, and Isca was splattered with the demon's blood.
Before she knew it, the beast was down, drowning in a puddle of its own blood. Her hands were stained red, and with that blood... she was set free.
---
Her eyes jolted open, and she was met with a pain around her neck. She found herself unable to breathe, and face to face with a man... a man who looked incredibly similar to herself. She gained control of her legs and kicked them towards the man, slamming into his gut.
Miguel's eyes widened. "STOP IT! DON'T HURT HER!" He yelled, wriggling himself free from Penny's grasp. He ran towards Deaarka and shoved him aside, stealing Isca from his grasp.
Penny frowned. "Miguel, you know that we have to stop the de-" She paused. Isca's marking slowly returned to normal, as did her facial features. She was back. Before, she was dead... no longer in existance... but now?
"Isca?" Miguel asked, holding his sister's weight in his arms to keep her from falling. His twin sister smiled back at him, her mouth full of blood. "Mugi... I.. did it. I-" She lost her breath, and collapsed into Miguel's arms.
"She is tired..." Miguel said, a smile plastered to his face. "She needs to rest." He walked her over to the rock, and gently set her down. Penny walked over too, rechecking her bandages and wounds.
"Well then." Penny said, shocked, but happy none the less. "Let her rest. We'll explain everything when she awakes."

Deaarka was shocked to see Isca wake up let alone kick him in the gut. He hardly winced, but his grasp around her neck loosened as Mugi pushed him aside. He watched, wide-eyed as Miguel seemed to rejoice and Isca gained consciousness, at least for a second. “I-impossible…” he murmured as he idly rested his hand on his stomach. He watched Penny check her bandages, and still couldn’t believe it.
“Penny, do you think she…” he watched from afar, no… Deaarka managed to give a crooked smile; she was stronger than he thought.
Howell watched as Isca gained consciousness. His murky green eyes gazed over her and Mugi. She was alive…? He smiled so wide his face ached. “Isca. You did it.” He whispered. He watched the unconscious Isca, when she would wake up she would learn about what she was, and Penny and Deaarka could help her. More than Mugi or himself could. His heart felt like it would burst from his chest. It wasn’t too late.
